I moved over to the Netherlands in 2011 to study and I have stayed here ever since. Being on expat forums on social media I have seen the question constantly of “I am moving to The Netherlands, what do I need to do?” The information given is usually good but scattered. I hope through this I can get everything into once place and help anyone move and settle easily.
While terms “Being Dutched” was originally a derogatory one used by the English (the Dutch and English did not used to get along very well), I prefer to see the term not by its original meaning of “being cheated” but to mean being Dutchified. To start thinking and acting like a Dutchie, to an extent.
